Campaigns are chaos. The closer you get to Election Day, the more chaotic they get. Throughout the campaign, you'll have the candidate's spouse, the extended family, friends, volunteers, donors, and people you run into at parties question you about whether you really know what you're doing. A campaign plan can help you create order out of chaos and silence your critics. In this session, we'll talk about the basics of a campaign plan and setting achievable goals to make sure that your campaign isn't doing things that don't have any rhyme or reason.
No campaign can do everything. Your campaign has a limited amount of resources. You need to know who will vote, your audience, so that you can allocate resources accordingly. The key to a good campaign plan is research. We'll discuss the elements of research and how you can accomplish them in this session.
Your greatest resource is your candidate. But like all humans, the candidate has strengths and weaknesses. The good news is that so does your opponent.
